Workday Tip of the Day: Florida Atlantic University, a large university based in Boca Raton, Florida, USA, has benefitted tremendously from implementing Workday which has positively impacted their staff, faculty, and students! FAU realized that they had some issues analyzing and communicating real-time data as they had several disparate systems that could not talk with each other. With Workday they found a system that could serve as a single system for all data and records across the university. Workday was able to help FAU consolidate and store 12 years of HR and financial data and turn off legacy systems. This helped the university meet compliance requirements as an institute of higher education. In addition, FAU decided to leverage Prism Analytics to reconcile thousands of financial transactions that could not be accessed utilizing its legacy system. Finally, FAU utilized Workday FDM (Financial Data Model) to help load and consolidate reports and financial data coming from legacy system. Using FDM in coordination with Prism allowed the university to create real-time and on-demand reporting. All of these benefits led to their back office staff being able to better support the day to day operations of their university which made their jobs easier to ultimately support their largest constituency: the FAU students! Workday Tip of the Day: Baumann, a Switzerland based company that is a leading provider of springs and stampings, decided to bring in Workday to bring together its employees from all over the world for a simple and standardized set of processes! The company realized that it had system, information, and data across divisions, business units, and geographies that were not communicating with each other. In order to solve that they decided to bring a consolidated platform for all of their information, ultimately choosing Workday. With Workday came the ability to meet their key goals of becoming a globally consistent and standardized organization. They ultimately decided to implement both HCM and Time Tracking. This allowed them to consolidate multiple Excel spreadsheets and local systems into one system. They were able to significantly reduce HR administrative tasks as well as replace hundreds of checklists and forms into simple processes powered by Workday. Finally they were able to show the value of Workday to their employees as they saw a very quick adoption rate both in general and even more specifically on their mobile devices.
