Only 6 ingredients needed to make Instant Pot Country-Style Pork Ribs. They are fall-apart tender and full of delicious flavor. These are a Sunday dinner staple at our house, but easy enough for a weeknight!
Our dump-and-go recipe for Instant Pot Country-Style Pork Ribs has always been a family favorite.
Our mom would make this for Sunday dinner and it was one of our most requested dinners.
She would always serve it with her Cheese Potatoes and Homemade Rolls – it doesn’t get any better than that!

Ingredients in Instant Pot Country-Style Pork Ribs:
- ketchup
- brown sugar
- white vinegar
- seasoned salt (or our mom used Old Bay Seasoning)
- liquid smoke
- boneless country-style pork ribs
- water
How to make Instant Pot Country-Style Pork Ribs:
In a medium sized mixing bowl, stir together the ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Old Bay seasoning, and the liquid smoke.
Place the ribs in the bottom of your Instant Pot and pour the sauce on top.
Pour the water on top, but don’t mix it in with the other ingredients.
Place the lid on top of the Instant Pot and move the valve to SEALING. Press the MANUAL (PRESSURE COOK) button and set timer for 25 minutes.
When the timer is done, let the pressure do a NATURAL RELEASE (this will take about 20 minutes).
Remove the lid and serve.
How to turn this into a freezer meal:
- Place ribs, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, liquid smoke, and seasoned salt into a gallon-sized freezer bag. Place freezer bag into freezer and it will last up to 90 days.
- When ready to use, dump ingredients from bag into Instant Pot and add 1/2 cup of water in with the frozen food. Place the lid on top, move the valve to SEALING, and press the MANUAL button. Set timer for 45 minutes. Let the pressure do a NATURAL RELEASE when the timer is done. Follow the rest of the instructions as written.

Taste was fine made as freezer meal. But sauce wa very watery. What did I do wrong?

The sauce was watery after you cooked them in the Instant Pot? Because you do have to add in that little bit of extra water. The sauce isn't super thick.

Could I make this recipe with a different kind of meat like chicken or normal bone-in ribs? My husband dislikes the country style ribs and they are also not very easy to find here in Canada

You can easily swap out the ribs for another kind. If cooking beef ribs, they take longer to cook than pork ribs.
